The Mark III Space Harrier was the very first home console conversion of the game, and given its age (and under powered hardware) isn't too bad an effort at all. The PC versions of Space Harrier were handled by Dempa, and released across a wide range of platforms (PC-8801, X1, FM77AV, etc). The X68000 port was easily the best version of its day, beating the Atari ST and Amiga efforts into a bloody pulp. Then again that's not much of a feat. Late 1988, and the PC Engine gets a stunning conversion of Space Harrier. A very early release on the format, and a classic in its day. NOTE: This game has problems running on SuperGrafx machines (it crashes when you shoot). You must toggle the unit's function switch onto 'PCE Mode' for it to work.
